I am a HUGE music junky -- if you already didn't know. I love all kinds of music, but mostly enjoy listening to something with depth behind the singers voice and the words, they have to tell me a story. I have been a HUGE fan of William Fitzsimmons for years now. His back story is so inspiring and sad and happy and full of all the emotions in between.
He was raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the youngest child born to two blind parents. Music was always something the family did for fun. He received his masters degree in counseling. Most of his songs are based off of his own experiences -- the child of divorce and the spouse of divorce. His lyrics are so real. Almost as if you were sitting across from him in a therapists office while he is pouring his guts on the table. Every time I listen to his words I cry.
Well, he will be in Philadelphia in February --and so will I ;-)
"There's room between your heart
And the chair where I've been sleeping
The place that we called home will someday watch you leaving
There's room between today
And the last time that I saw you
The pictures in my brain will fade until I lose you"
"The room still looks like you
it's a mess and all the pictures on the shelf are
dusted off by someone else, to keep me company
I haven't told her that your thought still lingers on"
"And my heart finds peace tonight
And my soul finds comfort there
in the knowledge that you'll someday
maybe be alright"
"Everything is different nothing's really changed.."
